Showcase Cinema De Lux Derby – This cinema, also known as the Derby Westfield cinema due to its location in the Westfield shopping centre, is renowned for its high standard of service and premises but as a result, ticket prices for the cinema are also comparatively high at around £7 per ticket.
In line with the general standards, the facilities of the Showcase De Lux are also high, with comfortable seats and various different options to buy food and drink, including the Studio One bar and restaurant. There is also the option to book a viewing in the Directors Hall which is a private and executive screening area for hire, which also gives access to the Directors Lounge where viewers can have a relaxing drink or snack before or after the show.

Being located in the Westfield shopping centre, the Showcase De Lux is ideally situated for eating out in Derby either before or after your film. Restaurants in Derby Westfield centre include Nando’s located on level 3, Pizza Express also on level 3, TGI Fridays on level 2 of the Westfield centre and of course Studio One, the cinema’s own restaurant and bar.

Showcase Cinema Derby – Essentially the same as the Showcase Cinema De Lux with the exception of the Directors Lounge and Hall. Also, the premium seats at Showcase cinema are on the back 3 rows as opposed to premium seats throughout the Showcase De Lux.

On Osmaston road you can find La Gondola restaurant, however just a short walk away is the London road on which you will find a wide variety of places to eat including Anoki Indian restaurant (129 London road), next door is Hong Shing Chinese restaurant (128 London road), on the other side of Anoki’s is Pepitos Mexican restaurant (127 London road) or a little further up at 147 London road is El Toro restaurant if you fancy some Spanish cuisine.

QUAD Cinema and Arts centre Derby – Quad is Derby’s visual arts and entertainment venue which also houses the Metro Cinema, Derby’s only independent cinema. As a result you can not only see the usual Hollywood blockbusters here but also a great selection of lesser known smaller budget films that wouldn’t normally make it to the big screen. There are a wide variety of different programmes showing at QUAD including cinema films for children, films for adults as well as independent films and those of an artistic nature. QUAD also shows a monthly Cinebabies screening which allows parents to bring their babies to adult film screenings. There is also a kids club called Cine kids which show kids films every Saturday and Sunday and daily through the school holidays.
Cinema ticket prices at QUAD are around £7 per adult and concessions are £5.50. Children’s cinema ticket prices are £3 when you join the kids club for £10 per year.

With its central location in Derby Market square, QUAD has a wide choice of restaurants and places to eat surrounding it. The obvious place to eat when visiting QUAD cinema would be in QUAD’s own café bar which serves a selection of freshly cooked meals and drinks. Other notable restaurants nearby are Istanbul restaurant (37 Corn Market), Nando’s in Derby Market Place, Coyote Wild on Victoria street and Revolution at 1 The Strand which is a vodka bar which also serves a range of meals.

Odeon Cinema Derby – located to the north of Derby city centre the Odeon Cinema is part of the largest cinema chain in the UK and is part of the UCI cinema group. The Odeon Derby has a good standard of facilities and also shows a selection of films in 3D in Derby. The Odeon also offer various different discounts and promotions on an ongoing basis such as Odeon Kids in which children can see children’s films for just £3.50 on Saturday and Sunday mornings and during school holidays. Admission for adults is free with Odeon Kids. There is also Odeon Senior screen in which over 60’s can view the mid-morning film for just £3 with free tea and coffee. Orange Wednesdays at the Odeon Derby means that Orange mobile customers can receive 2 for 1 tickets on Wednesdays by texting the word film to the number 241 on their Orange mobile phone. In addition there are cinema discounts for families where 2 adults and 2 children can all buy tickets at the child prices. This is also available for 1 adult and 3 children. And finally there is a teen discount where teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 can get 20% off the normal adult ticket prices.

If you want to grab a meal before or after the film you can choose from a few restaurants near the Odeon. Nearby places to eat include the Paddock pub at 391 Mansfield road, Breadsall, which ispart of the Hungry Horse chain. Alternatively, for some Indian food there is Bollywood Spice, also on Mansfield road or if you fancy a quick burger and fries then you can pay a visit to Macdonalds in the Meteor centre in Breadsall. For a touch more style you could take a short walk to Darley’s at Darley Abbey Mills, Darley Abbey.
Ticket Prices for Derby Odeon - There are 2 different tariff times for tickets at the Odeon. These are Peak time ticket prices and Supersaver prices. Supersaver prices are valid from Monday - Thursday before 5pm (except Bank Holidays). Peak prices are for all other days and times.
