Events at town halls throughout Derbyshire

There are a variety of events that run throughout the year at our town halls across Derbyshire. The events range from; craft fairs, Christmas fairs, record fairs, vintage fashion fairs, police advice drop-in sessions pole-walking, exercise classes and events for children.

Booking an event at your local Town Hall

If you need to hire one of the town halls in Derbyshire for a business, community or private function, such as a wedding, meeting, birthday party or conference.  Just contact your town hall of choice for more information on the contact numbers you will find below.  There are many to choose from including historical town halls such as the splendid town hall in Ripley.

Parking and Directions

Most Town Halls in Derby have parking either at the town hall or nearby.  You may have to pay local parking fees.  If you go onto the Derbyshire County website there are maps available.  You can also phone the town halls during their opening times to find out more regarding directions.

The Ripley Town Hall opens from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 1pm and between 1.30 and 4pm.

Ashbourne Register Office

The opening hours at the Ashbourne office are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between the hours of 1pm - 12.30om.  The only day you can obtain marriage and historical records information here is on Friday mornings. This registrar’s office is open on Fri from 10 - 12.30, and reopens at 1.30 closing at 4pm. The afternoon slot is just available to register any births or deaths

Bakewell Town Hall Register Office

The Bakewell Town Hall is only open part - time on Mon, Wed and Fridays.  You can find the office open between 1.30 and 4.30pm.  On Thursdays the office is open from 1.30 - 3.30pm.

Erewash Town Hall is open for Mon - Fri from 9.30 am to 1pm and then again from 2 - 4.30pm.

Long Eaton Sub Office

You will be able to make an appointment for the Long Eaton Sub Office on a Wednesday only. The officer is open from 9.30am and 1pm and then from 2pm until 4.30pm. If you want to make an appointment at the Long Eaton Town Hall you must book it through the Erewash registry office.

The High Peak Town Hall, at New Mills opens on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings between 9 and 12.30 and then again from 1pm to 4.30pm.  There is an option for late appointments by arrangement, on a Thursday. You can register a birth or a death on a Tuesday afternoon only here, between the times of 2.3O and 4.30.  

You can only register for births and deaths, and not marriages at the following Town Hall registrars.
