The Silk Mill Museum occupies the site of the world's oldest factories, built by George Sorocold in 1702. Exhibits include the development of Rolls-Royce aero engines and the railway industry. The Power Gallery covers the story of motive power.

Sir Richard Arkwright's original,1783 showpiece mills at Matlock Bath. The Working Textile Museum contains a unique, historic collection of authentic, working textile machinery. The extensive Shopping Village on-site includes tearoom, licensed restaurant, and Conference and Exhibition Centre.
