Roller World in Derby is a roller skating venue in the city of Derby with the UK’s largest maple floored roller skating rink.

Roller World is a great venue for all fans of roller skating to slip on a pair of skates and practice their 4 wheeled roller skating skills or for new beginners to have a taste of the 80’s craze that is becoming popular again.

Roller skating in England became popular in the 80’s with acts such as Starlight Express making children of the time wanting to emulate the skills and the fun being had. It is now making a huge comeback due to the ever growing popularity of Roller Derby, an American roller skating based sport that is taking roots in the UK.

Use of your own roller-skates is allowed provided they are clean and in good condition

Discounts are available for groups of more than 15 who will receive free skate hire. This must be booked in advance.

If you are stuck for ideas for your kids birthday party in Derby then look no further. Roller World in Derby makes a great venue for a kids birthday party keeping them entertained for a few hours while you sit and relax on the sidelines. Or if you fancy yourself as a bit of a big kid you can join in too.

The price for kids’ birthday parties is £10 per head which includes the following:

  • Entrance Fee
  • Skate Hire
  • Choice of cold or hot food
  • Disposable camera
  • Goody bags for each child
  • Free cake for parties of 15 or more
  • Roller Rex (Roller World’s giant cuddly dinosaur) to join the party

Roller World Derby Directions:

Roller World can be found on the Mansfield Road in Derby just north of the Racecourse Park.

  • From Derby City Centre head to the A601 Ring Road and follow signs for the A52 East.
  • Slip onto the A52 and then after about a mile, at the pentagon roundabout, take the first exit onto the A61 (Sir Frank Whittle Road).
  • After about 2.5 miles turn left onto Mansfield Road and you will find Roller World on the left.

Roller World All Night Skate – Occasionally Roller World puts on an all night skate event where people can come and skate all through the night. The all night skate is packed with great games such as barrel jumping and Bulldog and entertainment comes in the form of some top class Dj’s from around the country. The last all night skate was 4th of June so keep your eyes peeled for the next one.
